ASSOCIATION OF CHRISTIAN NURSES
AND
VOLUNTEERS-WELFARE
MISSION: TRAINING AND EQUIPPING NURSES AND VOLUNTEERS THE ART OF CARING FOR THE WHOLE PERSON

GOALS:
  • We provide both theoretical and practical onsite training for nurses and volunteers in Ukraine.
  • We provide ongoing support to our members.
  • We provide opportunities to connect with Faith Community Nurses  around the world through our affiliation with the International Parish Nursing Center.
  • We initiated a practical component, "Bank of Hope" in 2016.  Invalids, homebound, widows and others who need help receive holistic care with love and spiritual attention.
"Thanks to Blago and Bank of Hope volunteers my mom and I don't feel so alone.  The team comes to help us and they take their time as they care for our needs."  Olena (homebound for 10 years after a car accident.  30 years old)

"I'm glad that the Bank of Hope team comes to visit my mom so that I can do errands, buy what I need and relax for a little."   Sasha

"Already I feel that I am being useful to others as I visit people who need help.  It's actually fun to serve others."  Nata ( volunteer: Bank of Hope-Kiev)

OBJECTIVES:
  • The nurses and volunteers will receive a certificate after completion of 3 weekend seminars.
  • The nurse/volunteers will be better equipped to care for their patients/parishioners in a whole person way.
  • The nurses/volunteers may become active members of the Association which gives them access to further resources.

JUNE EVENT:

June 19-21 we will host another seminar in the series of 3/year.  We will be honoring the late Professor  В. Л. Кулініченка (1943 – 2014).
Colleagues from across Ukraine will attend and pay tribute to our beloved Professor Valentine on the first day of the conference and then the second and third day we will enjoy lectures on hospice/end of life care, how to care for yourself, spiritual care for your patients and when to pray for and with your patients.  We will also have a day of practical experience as we visit different ministries in Kyiv and practice what we have learned.  Please join us in prayer and perhaps help us finance this seminar.  $60.00 will offset this seminar and allow our members to attend and continue to learn the "art of caring" during this needed time in Ukraine.  If you want to give to this seminar expenses you can push donate button and use the account #2907 blago.  Thank you!

UPDATE
MAY, 2015

We are helping many people at our center who have complicated medical problems.  Many who hear about these folks don't want to get involved and can't help.  We "can't" either but God certainly can and is!  L and S are enjoying peace and health as they are under doctors care for cancer.  We are trusting God for Michael, a 31 year old husband and dad of 6 year old Matt(name changed) who sold all from eastern Ukraine to receive medical treatment in Kyiv. We are praying for a miracle so that he too can enjoy his family in health once again.
